Kids Canyoneering in Escalante
-CLICK ON PHOTO ABOVE FOR ALBUM & MORE ABOUT THE TRIP-
Mary, “wolf sister” Kamiya, Colby, buddy Mac and Dad traveled to Escalante, Utah to learn about canyoneering. The sport is becoming quite popular in the Western USA. Canyoneering is traveling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, reppelling and/or swimming. It combines hiking, rappelling & rock climbing up, over and through canyons. The dramatic color and formation of southern Utah rock and canyons are very unique and unequaled anywhere. Our guide, Rick with Excursions of Escalante, taught us canyon safety and the techniques for canyoneering in the Grand Staircase of Escalante National Monument. We climb Devil’s Garden, Canyoneered Eygpt Canyon & visited Zion’s Park on our 3 day trip.
